What are the Import possibilities and requirements?

Below you will find the import options, file formats, and record formats.

PlantStar 4.0 can import Job data, Job Template data, Tool data, among other data types.

Types of Imports:

  • Job Template - Job Templates are useful when you want to allow users to create jobs manually and want to provide them with a template job for each product that you are making.
  • Job - Job imports are used to import upcoming jobs, either scheduled or non-scheduled.
  • Tool - Tool imports can import your existing tool data into PlantStar for use when running jobs. 

PlantStar can accept import data from a variety of sources. File based (csv / json), web service based, direct database connection to a variety of DB providers such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and others. 

The fields available for each format are (fields marked with an * are required):

  • Job Template - Unique Identifier, *Job Name, Job Comments, *Standard Cycle Time(s), Down Threshold Multiplier, Standard Setup Time(s), Cycle Weight Measurement, and Units, Materials, Tools, *Product, Parts Must Be Confirmed(t/f), Is Refeeding Runner(t/f), Tote Configuration (tote, box, pallet, etc) quantity, Print Label on Tote Completion(t/f), Complete tote at tote size(t/f), Setup Sheet Data (text, file paths), Subjob Name, Subjob Comments, Number of Parts Required, Standard Good Parts Percentage, *Standard and Actual Number of Parts Per Cycle, Part Weight Measurement and Units, Reject Threshold Percentage, Product, Tote Configuration (There are from 1 to N subjobs for each job)
  • Job - Uses the same fields as a Job Template, except adds Required By Datetime at the Job level and Number of Parts Required is mandatory for each subjob
  • Tool - *Tool Name, Unique Identifier, Serial Number, Comments, Number of Seconds in Lifetime, Number of Operating Seconds in Lifetime, Number of Cycles in Lifetime, Number of Operating Seconds Used, Number of Cycles Used, Usage Start Datetime, Tool Type Name, Tool Type Unique Identifier, Tool Type Group Name, Tool Type Group Unique Identifier, Tool Group Name, Tool Group Unique Identifier

There are also from 0 to N custom fields available on each Job Template (and subjob) as well as each Job and subjob.
